nov 2012: natalie's first solo album announced!

Ten years after the seeds of an idea began—and seven years after an initial demo was recorded—Natalie is finally working on a full-length solo album that will fuse folk songs of Czechs, Slovaks, and Rusyns of Eastern Slovakia with American folk styles, from bluegrass to Americana to country to others. Although she has a fairly extended discography, this album is officially Natalie's first solo effort and was made possible by an Artist Initiative Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. The album is due out in early 2013. Keep track on Natalie's website and her Facebook page.

dec 2007: music from "winter (zyma)" featured on national public radio

Winter (Zyma), the Christmas season album debut from The Nowytski Sisters, will be released december 8, 2006.

Original music from the debut recording by Natalie and Olenka Nowytski, Winter (Zyma), was recently featured on National Public Radio. The album embraces a spectrum of styles, ranging from traditional "folk" arrangements to highly arranged versions of Ukrainian Christmas season music, performed a cappella, with an emphasis on the Christmas music of composer Kyrylo Stetsenko. The featured piece, "shcho to za predyvo" is an original melody by Natalie, as sung by the sisters on Peter Ostroushko's annual Heartland Holiday concert.
